Benefits
What good tint does
Rejects heat
Ceramic and multilayer films target infrared, the part of sunlight you feel as heat. How much they reject depends on the film and shade. See the specs for each line below.
Blocks UV
Every line we carry is rated by its manufacturer to block 99% or more of UV.
Cuts glare
Darker shades cut more glare. Lighter shades keep the view clear and still reject heat.
Keeps signals clear
None of these films use metal layers, so phone, GPS and radio signals pass through.
Looks factory
Low exterior reflectivity means a clean, non-mirrored finish.
Film lines
Two 3M film lines. Choose the one that fits.
Pick a film line first, then a shade. Specs vary by shade, so compare shades within a line. Ask us for the full spec sheet for any shade.
3M Ceramic IR
A nano-ceramic film from 3M. It’s metal-free, so it won’t interfere with phones, GPS or satellite radio, and its low reflectivity keeps the look clean. 3M rates it for strong infrared heat reduction across the range.
Shades
5, 15, 25, 30, 35, 50, 70
Total solar energy rejected
51% to 66%, varies by shade (66% for Ceramic IR 5)
Infrared rejection (900–1,000 nm)
78% to 95%, varies by shade
UV block
up to 99.9%
3M data on 6 mm automotive glass (73% VLT).
3M Crystalline Black
A multilayer optical film built from more than 200 layers, with a charcoal tint. It’s non-metalized, so it won’t interfere with phones, GPS, satellite radio or 5G devices. Even the lightest shades keep infrared rejection high.
Shades
CR BLK 30, 35, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80
Total solar energy rejected
45% to 61%, varies by shade (61% for CR BLK 30)

Manufacturer data. Actual performance depends on your car’s glass. In shade names, a lower number means a darker film.
Coverage
Choose the glass
Film and coverage are separate choices. Pick the windows you want covered, then pick a film line and shade for each area.
01
Front two windows
The driver and front passenger side windows. California only allows clear film here, under strict light-transmission rules. We’ll go over the rules with you before you choose.
02
Sides and rear
The rear side windows and the rear window. California sets no darkness limit on these. A tinted rear window requires outside mirrors on both sides of the car.
03
Full vehicle
Every side window and the rear window in one visit. The front side windows follow the same California rules as above.
04
Windshield (clear IR film)
A clear or very light infrared film that cuts heat through the largest piece of glass in the car. California permits film on the full windshield only if it’s clear, at least 88% VLT, and the driver carries a dermatologist’s certificate under CVC §26708(e).
05
Sun strip
A band across the top of the windshield to cut glare. California requires its bottom edge to sit at least 29 inches above the driver’s seat, measured as set out in CVC §26708(c). It can’t be red or amber, or more reflective than the windshield.
06
Sunroof or panoramic roof
Film on glass roof panels to cut overhead heat and glare.
California law
California tint law, in short
Only a strip at the top, above the line set in CVC §26708(c). Clear film on the full windshield requires a dermatologist’s certificate (§26708(e)).
Only clear, colorless film of at least 88% VLT, and the glass with film must still pass 70% light transmittance. The installer must provide a certificate (§26708(d)).
No darkness limit (§26708(b)(4)).
Allowed if the car has outside mirrors on both sides (§26708(b)(8)).
Removable sun screens with a physician’s or optometrist’s letter (§26708(b)(10) and §26708.2). It does not allow permanent dark film on the front windows.

Process
How a tint install works
01
Choose
Tell us what matters most: heat, privacy, glare or UV. We’ll show you samples from the lines above.
02
Prep
We clean and prep each window before any film goes on.
03
Install
Film is cut and heat-formed to the shape of your glass, then applied.
04
Inspect
We check every window before handing back your keys.
Timing depends on your car and how many windows you’re covering. We’ll confirm drop-off and pickup times with your quote.
Aftercare
The first few days
Keep the windows up while the film dries. We’ll tell you how many days to wait for your film and the weather.
A light haze or small water pockets are normal at first and clear as the film dries.
Clean with a soft microfiber towel and a mild, ammonia-free glass cleaner.
Don’t use abrasive pads, scrapers or blades on tinted glass.
Don’t stick suction cups, tape or stickers on the film.
